Schedule: As Needed for Coverage

Shift: 4 shifts per month including a weekend. Days and evenings. Must be ARDMS certified

The role youll contribute:

Under general supervision, primary duties include leading and assisting MRI technologists in imaging both neuro and body scans within the guidelines of Florida Hospital's parameters, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation and keeping the hospital's computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. Follows age specific guidelines while implementing the principles of Florida Hospital. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Provides daily critique/review of MRI exams.

The value youll bring to the team:

Performs and assists with MRI exams, on all types of patients: Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP) and Emergency Department (ED); using FH MRI protocols. Uses FH policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exam. Educates patient concerning exam. (Exam supervision and Administration)

Completes MRI exams in a timely manner, assists technologists to ensure proper workflow and minimizes empty table time. Follows through after completing exam with communication, transportation and discharge of OPs. (Does not apply to 4250) Monitors daily time and attendance. (Personal Productivity and Accountability)

Performs all types of MRI procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors and monitors. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform MRI scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary. (For cost center 4250 only) Completes quarterly technologist competency reviews on assigned employees. (Clinical Competence)

Properly screens each patient, visitor, employee who enters the MRI facility for contraindications for admission to the magnet room. Requests work orders for broken equipment. Maintains supplies by notifying supervisor/manager to order items when par levels are low. Performs QA on magnets within American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment. (Safety and the Environment of Care)

Reviews all images of all MRI exams, repeating sequences as necessary for best possible result; assists others in these decisions. Provides supervisor/manager feedback for employees evaluations. Performs daily review of radiologist key word and monthly image quality review of exams on assigned employees. (Image Quality and Documentation)

Uses computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams according to protocol. Confirms order matches exam before pushing to PACS or correctly fixes exams on workstation or PACS. (Data Processing)

Assists with collection of data for all KPIs, realizing final goals of department. Participates on teams as asked. Maintains and implements corrective educational steps in daily radiologist key word audits. Utilizes Service Recovery techniques for patients and families as needed. (Performance Improvement)

Consistently attends department and leadership meetings or other mandatory meetings showing positive engagement toward department and others. Helps create and implement active growth and development ideas for technologists and department. Actively listens and is responsible for knowing content. (Department Meeting Attendance)

For cost center 4250: Floats between the Medical Plaza, Main Hospital and Ginsberg Tower Surgery Suite assisting and or relieving for breaks, meetings and intra-operative OR cases. * Evening/Night/Weekend Lead Technologist duties may include some of the coordinator responsibilities such as researching patient history prior to sending for patient to ensure exam is accurately performed. Contacts the unit nurses or physicians if order clarification or correction is required. Verifies laboratory results as well as facilitates the completion of all exams in as little time as possible. Keeps workflow moving and minimizes empty table time. * Additionally, the lead is responsible for team focus which includes rounding with staff for needs assessment and growth and development opportunities. Takes an active role in department initiatives relating to Press Ganey and Employee Engagement. Also performs weekly preparedness rounding tracers to ensure regulatory requirements are being implemented at the department level. Relays radiologists concerns as an opportunity to educate the technologists. Reviews daily charge audits to ensure accuracy. * Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications

Associate Preferred

Bachelor's Preferred

High School Grad or Equiv Required

One or more years of Experience Preferred

Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds

Knowledge of MRI procedures

Knowledge of MRI scanners

Ability to learn and grow with new technology

Customer Service skills

MRI Safety skills

Computer skills to include Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook

Ability to multi-task under stress while dealing with large customer volume

Good organizational and problem-solving skills

General computer skills (Cerner and Impax)

Basic IV competency

General physics and anatomy

ARRT - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) Required or

American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Required or

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required and

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
