The Sonographer independently performs a range of imaging procedures, applying technical expertise, sound judgment, and initiative. All work is carried out in accordance with established standards and scope of practice, without the need for constant supervision.

*Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Sonographer Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education. *Sonographer Adv. rates start at $32.19/hour, Sonographer Specialist. rates start at $33.16/hour. Rates shown are at the Sonographer Adv. level.

Responsibilities: 

Assist with the training of staff and student sonographers. Conveys results to patients and ordering clinicians where appropriate and when given permission by attending physician. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Exhibits advanced level of knowledge related to normal anatomy and pathology.  Able to recognize pathology and the ability to think critically, assessing the patient results for communication with the physician. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Performs all job responsibilities of Level I Sonographer. Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
