They competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Take the next step and unlock your potential with a career at UPMC! *UPMC is pleased to announce the offering of a $6,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible roles in exchange for a two-year work commitment! _*Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary, based on their individual experience and education._ Responsibilities: + Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. + Assists physicians with invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards. + Interacts with patients and co-workers, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect. + Communicates instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears. + Ensures exams are properly coded, tracked, networked, and charges entered. + Identifies patients using two identifiers and reviews patient history and physician orders. + Documents patient history in electronic records as required. + May handle High-Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment. + Obtains and documents cross-sectional anatomy images, correlating measurements with data charts. + Performs technical ultrasound procedures, using appropriate instrumentation and techniques. + Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
