The Solvent Recovery Supervisor is an experienced chemical plant person and leader possessing the knowledge, skills, and ability to operate, troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to the equipment and/or operating systems. This position will be expected to mentor and train operators and as such should be a shown leader with outstanding communication and people skills. This role is expected to champion safety and quality in all activities and as such is expected to lead by example. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Maintenance and Utilities and is located in Muskegon, MI. This will be an on-site role. What you will do: + Responsible for the safe operation of all solvent recovery and tank farm activities. This includes assuring all procedures call out the correct safety protocols and that those safety protocols are followed utilizing the correct PPE at all times. + Assists with the development of departmental budgets and staffing forecasts. + Develops standard operating procedures, and other job specific documentation and ensures that all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with the sites Asset Management Strategy. + Responsible for helping to develop the training curriculum for operators. Ensures all assigned training is completed on time. Mentor and train operators and new hires on safety procedures, equipment operation and proper communication. + Assists with the planning, scheduling and execution of run times and tank farm activities.. + Subject matter expert for all investigations, deviations and CAPA's assigned to the department. + Manages the coordination of operations and maintenance activities as it affects the department, including proper forms such as Permit to Work, Hot Work, etc. Who you are: + High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or food production environment. + Experienced supervisor or team/group leader strongly preferred. + Knowledge and understanding of distillation columns. + Experience with OSHA standards specific to LOTO, Confined Space, working at height, Machine guarding and Hazardous Waste. + Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience mentoring team members, and ability to interpret and communicate technical data. + Strong technical ability and troubleshooting skills. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role + During initial start up phase, trips to the manufacturing site in Sweden will be required.
