Siemens Mobility Customer Services supports the full lifecycle of rail assets, offering long-term maintenance, technical services, digital diagnostics, and modernization for Siemens and third-party rolling stock. Our mission is to ensure maximum reliability, availability, and performance of our customers’ fleets through innovation and operational excellence.


Position Overview:

The Solutions Engineering Manager – Reliability leads a cross-functional engineering team responsible for analyzing and resolving reliability issues on coaches and locomotives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the long-term performance of Siemens Mobility’s fleet under Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreements (TSSSA), including high-profile projects such as Amtrak ICT.


What your day may look like:

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a team of service engineers and test specialists.Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.Drive towards the goal of delivering world-class root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Rolling Stock, Field Services, and Digital Services teams.

Reliability Engineering & Issue Resolution

Oversee root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring failures (e.g., HVAC, doors, propulsion).Drive implementation of engineering change notices (ECNs) and system upgrades to improve fleet reliability.Manage mitigation strategies and prioritization of issues.

Process & Project Management

Develop and maintain engineering workflows for issue tracking, resolution, and documentation.Ensure timely delivery of technical solutions aligned with TSSSA obligations and customer KPIs.Support digitalization of maintenance documentation and diagnostics platforms.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary engineering interface for customer reliability concerns.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on priorities, budgets, and resource planning.Present technical findings and improvement plans to senior leadership and customers.


What will make you successful in this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (Master’s preferred).7+ years of experience in rail, aerospace, or heavy transportation industries.Dynamic people leader focused on team engagement, growth, and results.Proven track record leading engineering teams and driving reliability program success.Strong understanding of rail vehicle systems and maintenance practices.Familiarity with digital diagnostics and Technical Support & Spares Supply Agreements (TSSSA) frameworks.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Travel 20% of the time. 


What will make you stand out:

Experience with Siemens rolling stock platforms (e.g., Charger Locomotives, Venture Coaches).PMP or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA $161,100-$189,500 per year and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on the budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

The pay range for this position is 161,100.00 - 189,500.00 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
