Solutions Engineer
Job Description An Oil and Gas company in downtown Houston is looking to hire a Solutions Engineer to join their Information Systems department, working within the Optimization group. This group is dedicated to technical project development that optimizes any piece of production. The Solutions Engineer should come from a background in the field, and will be responsible effectively communicating between the Production Engineers, Reservoir Engineers, and the software development/data science group. This person could be required to create visualization with Spotfire, or participate in data analytics. However, the main function of this position is understanding the business (production operations and reservoir engineering), and delivering IT solutions to improve business functions. The current project is centered around Depletion Analytics and creating a Machine Learning model that forecasts the well production based on a series of variables for an accurate type curve. The ideal candidate will be interested in working heavily with the data science team. Lastly, this person must be comfortable working on-site in Downtown Houston 5 days / week. Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers an hourly pay rate of $60-70/hr. Skills and Requirements Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering 1-3 years of professional work experience in the O&G industry Experience working as a Reservoir or Production Engineer Knowledgeable in depletion analytics Strong experience with excel and data analytics Excellent communication and strong willingness to learn Experience communicating business requirements to software developement groups Experience creating visual reports using tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, or Tableau Experience with SQL or Python programming Experience in data science or machine learning null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
