Job Description

As a Solution Architect for Rabobank Digital Platform, you have an opportunity to design the technology that provides the digital experience to more than 9.5 million customers through our digital experiences and help improve secure and seamless online access to our services.

You and your job 

Within Tribe Digital Platform, our squads work on a digital platform that provides the frameworks and tools for over 160 teams that build our modern digital experience, while ensuring the highest standards for quality, performance and security. As part of the Solution Architect team, you are responsible for the framework, standards and developer platform, together with other architects and developers. 

 

You will coach, guide and support a very technical squad. In this role you work closely together with your product owner, engineers and other architects. You ensure a vision about the current and future solutions we provide. You leverage your engineering experience, understanding of the business drivers and knowledge of current and emerging technology and its practical applications.  

 

As a Solution Architect, you will join Squad Fortress, a key team within our most critical systems landscape. Fortress is responsible for two high-impact applications: 

Datastore – delivers transaction data to our customers in near real-time. 

Customer Hub – delivers up-to-date and instantly accessible customer data. 

These systems are engineered for high availability, ultra-low latency, and strict security, making them foundational to our real-time data strategy. You’ll play a key role in shaping resilient, scalable solutions that power seamless customer experiences, including the use of AI on this data. 

 

You understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving architecture for the tribe   

You provide oversight and foster built-in-quality to ensure teams create high quality and well-designed technical solutions  

You leverage a strong engineering background to make the right choices in Solution Architecture.

Incorporate the latest architecture concepts into projects and initiatives 

Set and roadmap solution direction across the different squads 

Set and cascade solution direction across the different squads  

 

Top 3 responsibilities 

Manage and lead the architecture effort of 2 large scale cloud-based systems 

Create and socialize end-to-end designs and solution architecture with the squad, architecture colleagues, product owners and other business and IT representatives 

Mentor and coach the squad to implement the architecture and support the squads with challenges during all steps of the DevOps cycle

Your technical skillset: 

Experience in relevant IT DevOps roles, preferably as a Solution Architect in a complex environment 

Minimum 10 years of experience in IT DevOps, with at least 3 years in Solution Architecture 

Practical experience with architecture methods and techniques, including design processes 

Experience with Azure DevOps practices, Git, and Azure DevOps pipelines 

Experience with cloud architectures in general and specifically AWS  

Experience in working with large amounts of sensitive data 

Experience with OpenSearch is a plus
