Due to rapid growth in battery energy storage needs, we are seeking a Senior Engineer with the ability to apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments related to solar power generation and battery energy storage. The candidate should be capable of making independent decisions regarding engineering issues and processes, requiring supervision only for high-level objectives and critical issues.
ResponsibilitiesModel and analyze solar and battery sites using ETAP software, performing AC and DC system arc flash studies, and reviewing studies done by external engineers.Ensure consistent application of arc flash study standards and continuously improve these standards as industry knowledge advances.Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar and battery sites and aid field technicians with troubleshooting inverter and other issues.Support the development of countermeasures for recurring issues.Assist with responses to regulatory bodies for data requests.Conduct component failure rate analysis and develop capital part replacements and work plans.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with equivalent experience in electrical systems.5+ years of experience working in solar energy.Proficiency with electrical system modeling software such as PSSE, PSCAD, SKM, and ETAP.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience leading root-cause analysis for equipment failures at solar and battery sites.Skill in aiding field technicians with troubleshooting inverter and other issues.Ability to support the development of countermeasures for recurring issues.Capability to support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests.Experience in component failure rate analysis and development of capital part replacements and work plans.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
