Direct Permanent Full time Opportunity

We have an immediate opportunity for a Software Virtualization Engineer on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer.  All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

Responsibilities:
1.    Development of Virtualized Packages for Mission Baseline Applications
1.    Applications will be consumed both by VDI sessions and thick clients
2.    Applications include those with plugins and advanced graphics requirements
2.    Work with application testers and mission SME's to validate mission application behavior
3.    Incorporate any required sequencing changes into the app sequencing process
4.    Identify facets of user application settings (registry, AppData, etc.) that need to be persisted across sessions in a non-persistent VDI environment
5.    Identify automation opportunities for application sequencing and work with the engineering team to streamline the sequencing process for mission applications, once established
6.    Assist the virtualization team and VDI team with application delivery infrastructure configuration, as needed
7.    Improve backup/Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations.
8.    Articulating knowledge, discoveries, designs, etc. rapidly and concisely in written detailed designs, test plans and test cases, implementation plans, operational guides, and training guides under project management time and cost-constrained deadlines.
9.    Performing work without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in the determination of technical objectives of assignments.
10.    Working with VMware software defined data center products and tools for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
11.    Analyze, test, and apply regular security patches and software update as required
12.    In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of Virtualization products and capabilities
13.    Ability to analyze and apply virtualization product capabilities to changing program requirements
14.    Good work ethic and active desire to learn.
15.    Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
16.    Excellent written and oral communication skills
17.    Create and maintain technical documentation and provide training to other team members
18.    Incident resolution and fulfillment of software requests
19.    Performs all other work as assigned.
 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Requirements:
1.    Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience with Systems Administration/Virtualization. (Additional Education, Training, Certifications or Work Experience can be substituted in lieu of degree or work experience)
1.    A degree may be substituted with additional years of experience
2.    8140.01M IAT Level II certification
3.    3+ years of experience with VDI technologies, including VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
4.    2+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp or comparable application virtualization technology (Microsoft App-V, FlexApp, App Volumes, etc)
 
Desired Qualifications:
1.    Experience with Windows Desktop (10/11) and Server (2012+) Operating Systems
2.    Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) to automate tasks and manage deployments. 
3.    Experience with non-persistent desktop environments
4.    Experience with profile management solutions such as VMware DEM or Liquidware Labs' Profile-Unity
5.    Familiarity with ActiveDirectory, specifically Group Policy
6.    Understanding of load-balancing application delivery services
7.    Understand principles of ITIL
8.    Able to create architectural design documents and presentations
9.    Able to test and apply hardware and software updates
10.    Understand architectural frameworks such as TOGAF
11.    Virtualization compute environment certification, i.e. VMware Certified Associate for Data Center Virtualization (VCA-DCV)
12.    Familiarity with ticketing systems (Service+, ServiceNow, Remedy, etc)
 
Travel Required:
Occasional trips to the customer site in St. Louis, MO

Telecommuting Options:
Onsite only, work tasks require access to customer networks
