Software Test Engineer (Experienced or Senior)

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced or Senior Software Test Engineer to join the F/A-18 Mission Systems team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The selected individual will collaborate with a team to perform a variety of testing to ensure safety, quality, and reliability of weapon system software for the Super Hornet and Growler fleet, delivering new and improved capabilities to the US Navy.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of levels including (Experienced or Senior) Software Test Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Leads the design, development, and completion of test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality

Partners with stakeholders and leads the review and identification of software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability

Leads the design of test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.  Advise on the set up and configuration of test environments, including hardware, and software configuration

Leads executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes

Advises on test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities

Leads creating, documenting, and maintaining test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards

Leads developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes

Mentor and guide junior engineers in testing best practices and methodologies

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality test and evaluation

Experience with executing test events against avionics, embedded and/or mission systems

Experience with software integration and end to end testing methodologies

Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with software development in avionics and/or real-time embedded systems using C/C++, Ada, C# and/or Java

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Math, or other technical degree

Knowledge of avionics systems and military aircraft operations

Strong programming skills in languages such as C++, Ada, Java, or Python

Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools

Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile Scrum methodology

Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Experienced: $107,100.00 - $141,900.00

Summary pay range for Senior: $122,500.00 - $165,500.00
