At Data Center Business Unit at Cisco, we are dedicated to driving innovation in networking technologies. Our focus is on developing groundbreaking Ethernet Switching products that address the evolving needs of modern network infrastructures, including those in AI, cloud computing, and enterprise environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of core Ethernet Technologies with architectural exposure to craft and develop Ethernet Switching as applied to both Public and Private cloud infrastructure. You will work on the intricacies of the critically important infrastructure that enables the world-class, multi-layered Nexus switches. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in multi-functional collaboration and be exposed to all facets of the software development cycle from innovation and marketing requirements to product delivery.


Your Impact

In this role, you will spearhead the development of advanced Ethernet Switching solutions, directly contributing to the enhancement of modern network infrastructures. Your work will focus on designing and implementing system software that boosts the performance, scalability, and reliability of Cisco's Nexus switches. By engaging with cross-functional teams, you will facilitate seamless product integration and ensure successful market delivery. Your expertise will empower businesses to achieve digital excellence and transform their operations, ultimately shaping the future of networking technology.


Responsibilities:
Design and develop system software for Data Center products based on Silicon One based ASICs. Develop features targeted for AI/ML use cases and deployments. Develop SDK for next-generation feature-rich network ASIC. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to take developed products to market. Innovate through close collaboration with distinguished engineers, focusing on scale, performance, and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 10+ years of experience in software development for networking products Experience in C/C++ programming and switch/router software development Experience with network programming and protocols, such as L2, L3, ACL, QOS and Telemetry Experience with operating systems and distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in SDK development for network ASICs Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Passion for innovation and continuous improvement
