Kemper is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join the group to support work on Guidewire auto insurance applications.
**Responsibilities:**
+ **Lead** -QA Lead with strong technical expertise and leadership skills, capable of leading and executing Guidewire projects, mentoring QA team members, developing comprehensive test plans, and ensuring that final products exceed quality expectations—contributing to the overall success of the organization.
+ **Functional Testing:** Execute functional test cases to ensure that software functions as expected under various scenarios.
+ **Test Planning, Test Strategy & Documentation:** Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test strategy and test cases based on Guidewire product requirements and functional specifications.
+ **Defect Management:** Identify, report, and track defects using bug-tracking tool ALM. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
+ **Regression Testing:** Perform regression tests to ensure that new software features or bug fixes do not impact existing Guidewire functionality.
+ **Test Automation:** Assist with automation initiatives by identifying repetitive test scenarios and working with the automation team to implement automation scripts.
+ **Collaboration & Communication:** Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases. Ensure test coverage aligns with Guidewire and Non-guidewire requirements and provide testing feedback to stakeholders.
+ **Test Case Optimization:** Continuously review and optimize test cases to improve efficiency and test coverage.
+ **Cross-Platform Testing:** Test applications across various browsers, operating systems, and devices (when applicable).
+ **User Acceptance Testing (UAT):** Assist UAT team with their execution by ensuring that the application is available and defects resolved to meets business requirements and functionality expectations.
+ **Reporting:** Provide regular test progress reports, defects management and reporting including identifying risks and issues to stakeholders.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and best practices within the team.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 5+ years of experience in functional testing, ideally in an agile development environment, preferably in **Guidewire or similar Insurance product applications** .
+ **Testing Tools:** Experience with common functional testing tools ALM and JIRA.
+ **Manual Testing:** Proficient in writing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases based on requirements and functional specifications.
+ **Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):** Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with various testing phases (unit, integration, system, User acceptance testing and post go live validations).
+ **Automation Testing (Selenium):** Experience with test automation tools like Selenium is a plus and highly desirable. Experience in automating functional test cases will be considered a strong advantage.
+ **API Testing:** Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
+ **Database Testing:** Experience with database querying (SQL) for validating data in functional tests.
+ **Cross-Platform Testing:** Familiarity with testing across various platforms (Web, Mobile, etc.).
+ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ **Communication Skills:** Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ **Adaptability:** Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and timelines.
+ This position works at a local Kemper office
The range for this position is $68,000 to $113,400. Hiring Range High. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
