i3 is searching for a Software QA Lead for the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The Software QA Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance process and standards within a software development team. This includes designing and implementing testing strategies, managing QA engineers, and ensuring that all MDA Directorate of Test (DT)  software meets quality standards before release. The Software QA lead plays a crucial role in identifying and resolving quality issues, often working closely with leadership, developers, and stakeholders.

 

MDA DT’s mission supports all testing activities including planning, logistics, analysis, and data management. The Software Lead will lead QA and team initiatives across multiple software applications that drive solutions towards successful implementation, delivery, and maintenance. A successful lead candidate will promote a culture of cross-functional, integrated development and QA teams focused on delivering regular value to the customer. They will remove blockers and unnecessary dependencies to accelerate development and delivery of valuable software for MDA in support of its data management mission.

Responsibilities Develops, manages, and leads embedded Quality Assurance engineers by providing advice, guidance, learning opportunities, feedback, and training.Support User Story development with leadership, Product Owners, developers, and stakeholdersSupport Example Mapping sessions to develop acceptance criteria, and test criteria for development teamsDevelop a quality assurance plan that integrates QA efforts among development teamsTrack and status Quality Assurance metrics to leadership and stakeholdersParticipate in multiple daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectivesCoordinate with multiple development teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software products and implementation of QA processes within the SDLCConduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the QA engineers.Support tailoring of processes for project requirements.Lead continuous improvement initiatives.Train, mentor, and develop employees on quality systems and procedures.Represent the organization on quality-related matters to stakeholders and proposals.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field. Additional experience may substitute for degree. Minimum 11 years of relevant experience in quality, and quality management, preferably in the aerospace industry.Strong understanding of AS9100D, ISO 9001, and/or CMMI.Understanding of Project Management, DoD Contracting, and CMMI standards preferred.Active Secret clearance required. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position. Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date.Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.U.S. Citizenship is required.
