Software Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator and team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable working closely with fast-paced agile development teams. The candidate in this position will have the opportunity to shape testing processes and contribute to product excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a full time on-site position in our Hunt Valley, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute manual test cases based on requirements and user stories.

• Develop and maintain end-to-end automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).

• Create and maintain robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks.

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing across different environments.

• Analyze and report test results, and document defects clearly using Jira or similar tools.

• Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to understand features and technical implementation.

•  Identify, record, and track bugs; perform thorough root-cause analysis.

• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests and ensuring test coverage.

• Contribute to improving QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Required Skills

Proven experience in manual web application testing. Hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework. Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience writing test cases, test plans, and bug reports. Solid knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience working with RESTful APIs and using tools like Postman. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education/Certifications

A minimum of a B.S. in engineering or science is desired. Preferred fields include computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, industrial engineering (with a focus on system design and analysis), applied mathematics, or applied physics. While certifications are not mandatory, candidates holding one or more relevant certifications will be given preference.

Other Requirements

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in conveying complex ideas using tools such as technical diagrams, graphs, and illustrations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Capability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams, including remote partnerships with development teams across continents.

Let’s talk.   The base salary compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000  Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
