Mission of the Role

Experienced technical leader adept at leading strategic program management, who drives complex SW projects throughout program lifecycle, ensuring successful execution, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction; This role works with the larger team to surpass customer expectations in cost, quality, and delivery on SW projects while meeting financial objectives; Be the Product Development Leader for Software Swim Lane working with a Program Management mindset in close collaboration with Software Swim Lane Leader having the responsibility to successfully deliver the objectives of the project on Software area and acting as main Customer Program Management interface for the Software Swim Lane; Lead specific Software development scope (project) within a larger multidisciplinary program with Project Management mindset having the responsibility to successfully deliver acting as main Customer interface;

 

Key Objectives of this Role

Develop and maintain control over all the Program Management elements of Software Swim Lane, e.g.: Timing plan & Strategy to meet the defined Visteon and Customer milestones; VPDS Process Compliance, e.g., Gate Deliverables, PAD, Vistway, ASPICE; Risks, Defects, Quality indicators & Escalations; Budget and Staff Planning; VPDS and Vistway assigned to Product Development Software Leader;

Manages one or more SW projects, according to decision matrix based on project complexity matrix;

Manages Customer and Visteon SW milestones and deliverables, coordinating development activities with SW Swim Lane leaders, including functional validation;

Owns Budget for SW activities;

Forecast SW activities and load in enterproj after approval (PIC/Gate) and will keep it updated;

Plans with PM and other project leaders and aligns milestones to achieve program goals.

Supports/aligns other projects activities (issue SW BOM defining PN’s, estimates changes impact, communicate sample delivery requirements, deliver test SW to manufacturing, among others);

With SW Swim Lane support, ensure that SW licenses needed are acquired (PAR) on time to achieve programs goals;

Manages estimation and outsourcing activities services with Program buyers for SW services activities;

Guarantees timely deliveries, eliminating roadblocks, in line with customer milestones;

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Software; Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in program and project management, with at least 6 years in the automotive industry; Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional development teams across multiple international locations; Solid knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMP certification preferred); Deep understanding of automotive development and production processes, with hands-on experience in software development (participation in 2+ completed projects); Strong leadership qualities, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to drive initiatives with confidence; High degree of independence, responsibility, and ownership; Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, strategic thinking, and effective communication; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused and collaborative approach; Analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities; Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and JIRA.
