Software Product Owner for Point of Care Drivers

The Position

A key pillar of our strategy are analyzers and software for in vitro diagnostics. For the broad product portfolio of Roche Diagnostics, our department provides re-usable software platforms and components. One of the central software platform elements is the communication server which enables our products to connect to Roche and third party applications and systems. The Point of Care Drivers team is responsible for developing and maintaining the interface connectors allowing the communication server to connect to point of care devices. A good understanding of the communication protocols of IVD analyzers and experience in the area of R&D in medical technology is key. The role of the product managers for our Point of Care drivers is a central communication and coordination role which requires a very high ability of stakeholder management. Daily coordination with the local affiliates in nearly hundred countries, the alignment with the global Product Management Team and the close collaboration with the development team is part of this challenging role.

Product Owner Interoperability

The Agile Release Train “Interoperability ART” in the Standardization & Components chapter is responsible for delivering re-usable software platform components to connect IVD devices and software. For a team in this Agile Release Train, we are seeking a Product Owner with good ability for Stakeholder Management and a high degree of self-organization.

Your main Responsibilities:

As a member of a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART), you will be responsible for:

Elicitation of features with stakeholders and the backlog prioritization aligned with the International Product Managers helping the team to understand the business needs and the customer perspective.

Also for the facilitation of the team in breaking down the features into stories and maintaining and prioritizing the team’s backlog validating the stories to meet the objectives and acceptance criteria of the features.

You will take ownership of defects and prioritizing within the PI supporting the development team in any product-related topics collaborating with other teams

As a member of the sub-chapter organization, 10% - 20% of the working time, you will be actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the Product and Portfolio Management Discipline.

You are expected to contribute in spreading and increasing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities with the rest of the members as well as leading initiatives/activities related to the Capability purpose on your own and permanently optimizes processes in order to increase quality and efficiency standards.

Who you are:

You hold an university degree in informatics, electronics, bioinformatics or comparable with 2-4 years of experience in working in agile SW development

You have interpersonal communication skills, influence and inspiring skills, the capacity of dealing with multiple projects, and problem resolution orientation.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken and fluent in Spanish

If you have experience in a similar position and in Scaled Agile Framework SAFe, that would be a plus

Also experience with communication protocols is a plus (POCT1-A, HL7, ASTM)
