Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing cutting-edge space robotics technology. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions that support manned space missions and other advanced robotics applications.
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical direction and surveillance to ensure software quality and adherence to program standards.Review system-level designs and conduct software architecture, requirements, and coding verification activities.Oversee multiple stages of safety-critical, real-time software design, development, and testing.Monitor programs to ensure compliance with company and program standards.Identify issues and risks, collaborating with the software development team for resolution.Chair reviews of software non-conformances and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.Ensure incorporation of software reliability, fault tolerance, and maintainability features.Participate in milestone reviews, including chairing software Test Readiness Reviews.Perform in-process and phase-end audits and surveys, identify risks, and agree on corrective actions.Conduct software safety analyses and subcontractor audits as required.Find process improvements for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.Contribute to the design, implementation, maintenance, and testing of a wide spectrum of software solutions, including safety-critical, real-time flight software solutions, ground control software, simulators, and test software tools.Essential Skills5+ years of relevant experience with Verification and Validation or product assurance of firmware/VHDL.5+ years of experience in Software Product or Quality Assurance.1+ years of experience with automated testing/scripts, familiarity with test frameworks.Ability to read C/C++ coding, VHDL, firmware, real-time embedded systems, continuous integration, and C#.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with MIL/NASA/ESA Software and SW Product Assurance standards.Experience with development and/or testing of safety-critical, real-time software solutions.Experience with continuous integration/build automation.Familiarity with embedded systems and higher-level technologies such as Windows (.Net, AWS, etc.).Work Environment
Work regular hours, totaling 40 hours per week, with core hours from 9am to 3pm. The office requires in-person presence for at least three days a week, typically from Tuesday to Thursday. The dress code is business casual, aiming to present yourself professionally, especially during customer meetings. The work environment is collaborative and collegial, fostering teamwork and open communication.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
