Software Manager
Job Title: Software Engineer with Development and Management Responsibilities
Job Description

This role involves at least 50% software development tasks initially, with a gradual shift towards more management responsibilities as the team grows. You will be designing, developing, and documenting software for communication devices and support tools, while leading a team of engineers in researching and implementing AI technologies.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and document software for communication devices and support tools.Lead a team of engineers in researching and implementing AI technologies in software products.Mentor other members of the software team, providing technical guidance and administrative supervision.Collaborate with engineering management and other engineers to review software strategies and ensure final products are safe for end users.Work with product managers and fellow software engineers to transform ideas into functional software for dedicated hardware and personal computers.Investigate and resolve bugs in existing software.Write code that is clear, well-annotated, thoroughly documented, and compliant with the team’s coding guidelines to ensure maintainability by other engineers.Essential SkillsSupervisory skillsProficiency in Python, Java, and C++Experience in machine learning and artificial intelligenceProduct systems designComputer visionExperience with TensorFlow and PyTorchSQL and NoSQL databasesVersion control systems, especially GitAgile development environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar fieldExperience supervising others6+ years of experience in Python, Java, and/or C++Experience with machine learning and natural language processing, any AI toolExperience with Windows, Android, or iOSDeep learningVector databasesWork Environment

You will be working in an agile team environment, 100% remotely. The internal software development team is starting with 2–4 engineers and 1 manager, with potential growth to 6–7 engineers. Occasional travel (once per quarter) to the Wooster, OH office may be required, with travel expenses covered.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
