Software License Management (SLM) is responsible for managing the software assets and license positions of Northern Trust that support business strategic goals.
The Software License Management Sr. Analyst participates in the lifecycle of software entitlements management including active license tracking, financial baseline and forecasting of software products across multiple software publishers of various size and investment. The role will utilize a combination of products and tools including the initial software entitlements for a portfolio of vendors utilizing Flexera for entitlements mapping/utilization as well as engaging with a managed service partner. Additional responsibilities include support of the underlying SAM/ITAM data management tool, Flexera One.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Engage with Entitlements Analysts to understand stakeholder software demand. This includes:Understanding existing entitlements and cost for portfolio of products across multiple software publishersDetermining growth or decline projections based on engagement with software product owners/stakeholdersTrack and report on current and future volumes/obligations for designated portfolio of software productsEstablish regular cadence (monthly/quarterly) to provide reporting to management and stakeholdersEnsure business adapters are operational and monitor data integrity and qualityDevelops metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as neededProvide support, maintenance, and upkeep for the Flexera One platformResponsible for FlexNet agent and beacon deployment, updates and monitoringResponsible for monitoring and troubleshooting connectors and API interfaces with collaborative toolsConduct health checks of the Flexera One configurations and ensure operational effectivenessEnable and maintain Flexera One integrations and APIsSupport Flexera platform testing relative to Infrastructure change activitiesParticipate in the continuous improvement of systematic controlsMaintain and manage inventory of Flexera FlexNet agents including lifecycle updatesMaintain and manage Flexera beacon operational effectivenessOther duties include:
Planning work in conjunction with IT and business prioritiesLiaising with partners and peers throughout the organizationEnsures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely mannerRapidly and effectively adapts to highly dynamic and fast-paced work environmentParticipates in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assignedFosters a positive and collaborative environmentThe successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with the following:
10+ years of IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience, including Software Asset Management (SAM) or Software License ManagementPrior experience using Flexera suite of ITAM toolsTechnology Business AnalysisExcellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentationalWork with end users in a time sensitive environmentSelf-starter, and be able to think ahead of entitlements related nuancesHighly flexible and adaptable to changeStrong team/relationship building skillsSoftware demand and lifecycle management for commercial software productsExperience in Procurement and/or Finance organizations partnering with Technology and business software product owners/stakeholders is a plusExperience
College or University degree and/or relevant demonstrated work experienceSalary Range:
$74,200 - 126,200 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
