About the Team:
This position is part of Global Platforms team primarily focusing on migrations from legacy systems like Marklogic to new technologies such as Solr / Amazon DocumentDB for the legacy modules such as Content Search and Retrieval (CS&R) and User Storage Area (USA).
About the Role:
This position is a key leadership opportunity for a Software Engineering Lead who will guide a team of developers. You’ll be involved in writing code for complex systems and applications, overseeing project plans, schedules, and methodologies, while also mentoring a diverse and talented group of engineers.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary point of escalation for software development challenges within your area of expertise.
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to finalize requirements.
Actively contribute to the design and development of system components.
Resolve complex issues and implement effective bug fixes.
Lead and mentor engineers, particularly early-career professionals, ensuring they have access to resources and guidance for success.
Promote best practices in development processes, including coding standards and code reviews.
Foster an inclusive environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
Design and work with complex data models, ensuring they meet business needs effectively.
Encourage and implement ideas that improve processes through collaboration and creativity.
Requirements:
While we recognize that talent comes from many backgrounds, the following qualifications are preferred:
10+ years of software engineering experience.
A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Expertise in development languages such as Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Python, HTML, SQL, and .Net.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Marklogic, Solr, Elastic) and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, Postgres).
Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to lead diverse teams.
