We are looking for a user facing role as Software Engineer / Developer who desire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environment on business demand analysis and solution design with global teams from brainstorming, prototyping, development, testing to implementation.

This role requires solid financial knowledge, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and good time management. This role is based in North America east coast area and will work with State Street client and business users from all regions.

What you will be responsible for

As a Software Engineer / Developer, you willDesign and build robust processes utilizing your core development skillsDesign and develop new functionality, enhance existing features, troubleshoot and tune end-to-end processesDesign, develop and optimize complex PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers and packagesParticipate in Agile methodologies including sprint planning and retrospectivesProvide production support escalation coverage and troubleshoot live issuesAnalyze performance issues and implement tuning strategiesConduct code reviews and adhere to coding standardsWork with internal business users to gather and understand user demands.Document, review and evaluate existing business models and recommend future processes or technical solutions.Identify, solve or escalate potential issues and risks during development lifecyclesCollaborate with other roles/teams to deliver consistent and timely results with high qualityEstablish and maintain strong network relationships with counterparties

A detail-oriented developer who works well, independently and as part of an Agile / Scrum teamExperience in developing and maintaining large-scale applications, preferable in the financial services industryExcellent technical skills with a focus on Oracle PL/SQLGood written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with Oracle development tools including TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Plus, etc.Experience using GIT version control toolsetStrong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skillsStrong presentation and interpersonal skillsTeam playerJira and other Agile tools experienceMicrosoft Office software skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio)

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or related technical field7+ year’s of hands on development experience with Oracle PL/SQLExperience in projects/agile rooms, in the financial service or data research industryProven skills in documenting and maintaining project artifactsAbility to understand processes / workflows and the application of technologyExpert understanding of the software development lifecycle (example – Agile development)Fluent verbal & written English communication and strong interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsTeam player; detail oriented and self-motivated to drive work to proceed with minimal supervisionMultiple tasking ability. Good time organizational skills to manage competing project prioritiesEnthusiasm in work with good self-learning ability
