**Description** SAIC has an opening for a **Lead Software Engineer** to support the S3I located on **Redstone Arsenal** in **Huntsville, Alabama.** **The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:** + Leading the design and development of embedded software for military systems. + Leading a team of software engineers through the full software development life cycle (e.g., requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test, documentation, and support) following an agile/scrum development process. + Organize and run software team meetings. + Participate in requirements and design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and other management meetings as needed. **Qualifications** **Required Education:** + Bachelor's degree and five (5) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree. **Required Clearance:** + Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required. **Required Skills:** + Must have proven experience leading software teams through the full software development life cycle. + Must have a strong knowledge of C/C++ and experience developing software for real-time embedded systems. + Must have development experience with VxWorks or other real time operating systems. + Must have knowledge of formal software development processes and experience working in an agile/scrum environment. **Desired Skills:** + Scrum Master Certification is desired. + Experience in Software Systems Safety is a plus. + Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design methods and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
