Position Overview 

Autodesk’s Simulation team is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to delivering engineering simulations and other technologies in Autodesk's Fusion platform. You will help build and enhance our simulation solutions as well as other parts of Fusion, including both desktop components and web clients, supporting cloud services.   

As a Software Engineer, you will have an impact on how we design, build, and deliver our products to thousands of professionals around the world. You will work in a cross-functional team on a variety of unique challenges that allow you to learn new technology and grow your skills.  

This role is a hybrid position with a team located primarily in Novi, Michigan.

 

Responsibilities 

Design, prototype, implement, and enhance our software products, with the main areas of work being in C++ applications with cloud solutions

Produce clean, effective, secure, maintainable, and well-documented source code 

Create unit tests and assist with developing automated system tests where applicable 

Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussion 

Collaborate with team members to seek on-going improvements in team effectiveness 

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience 

Strong software architecture practices including design patterns and object-oriented software development 

Solid knowledge and experience with C++ programming 

Desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly 

 Preferred Qualifications 

Professional or educational experience with automated/scripted testing  

Experience with these Tech Stacks: Qt, JavaScript / web technologies, GIT, CMake , Go, and CICD / Jenkins / containerization  

Understanding of Math, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering 

Professional or educational experience with software development on multiple operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, and Linux

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $85,000 and $137,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
