You will be a part of Splunk’s Lakehouse team and work with other team members to deliver new capabilities to our data platform, extending Splunk’s capability to search and analyze data wherever it resides.In this role, you will:Extend the Splunk platform to query new data lakes and provide further customer insights from their dataWrite production-quality, high-performance distributed systems codeBuild, test, operate and maintain customer-critical query functionalityDevelop data platform applications and their service layer in cloud environmentsEmpower your ideas by proof-of-concept prototypesCollaborate with engineers in the team to deliver efficient data processing capabilitiesInnovate and contribute to the product roadmapBe informed and creative – know about meaningful problems, devise new solutionsIdeal Experience:2+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend systemsStrong Java, Scala or C++ skills with distributed systems design and knowledge of OO and functional programming practicesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and IaC (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)Experience with CI/CD practices and container orchestration platformsPassion for solving hard problems and exploring new technologiesExcellent team player with good communication and documentation skillsExperience with Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar high volume data technologies is a strong plusEducationBS/MS in Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
