Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Software Engineering Intern position. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you have a passion for web development, are looking for an opportunity to program in TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, and Python, and want to learn fundamentals of microservice development then this position is for you!
 

As a Software Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following:  

Supporting SEL’s software development process.Verifying that software meets requirements.Implementing software/firmware design.Providing support to engineering staff as needed.Following engineering quality assurance procedures.Continuously identifying, measuring, and improving processes.Following and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.Understanding. Creating. Simplifying.

This job might be for you if: 

You are a current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed.You have programming experience primarily in TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, and Python.You are able to execute and document defined testing procedures.You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.You are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.You are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.You have background check results satisfactory to SEL.You have negative drug test result(s).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing Web Applications.Experience with TypeScript and React.Experience using Git or other version control systems.Proficient with the Linux command line.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux containers.Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

Pay Range Data

($18.00 - $25.00 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
