Spend this summer as a software engineer intern helping transform one of our key industry sectors using cutting-edge technologies with an industry-leading organisation!
What You Will Do
As a Software Engineer Intern at Trimble, you will work as an integral member of one of our software development teams, developing one of our products, and usually working within an Agile environment. This position is a fixed-term role for working over the summer period, starting in November 2025.
This could see you working in one of the following areas:
Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), our joint venture with Caterpillar - Working on Grade Control and Automation, in an embedded C++ platform with Android (Java/Kotlin) and Angular (3 roles)
Field Systems Cloud, Geospatial, and Civil Construction Software (CCFS-CS) - coding large-scale cloud-based applications in C# and .NET Core, React, and Angular (3 roles)
Field Systems/Geospatial - developing a mobile CarPlay app using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java (1 role)
Corporate Services - Enable Trimble to sell products and services by developing cloud-native applications used globally and underpinned by relational data structures. Workloads are deployed to AWS (2 roles).
Our software engineering internships offer a variety of hands-on experiences, depending on your area of interest and experience. You will receive hands-on experience using your coding and programming skills in a professional setting while learning how to operate in an agile team environment.
This will have you doing the following:
Become intimately familiar with product requirements
Develop high-quality software that satisfies the product requirements
Work with developers to make sure that new features are created according to market requirements
Work with development teams on complex, multi-dimensional projects, and learn valuable leadership skills
Learn how to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team
Understand and adopt coding standards and best practices.

What You'll Bring?
Along with being a team player, with strong work prioritisation skills and a collaborative communication and working style, you will also possess these skills:
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or other related field
Experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, C#, Angular, React, .NET Core, Python, Java, C, Robotics Operating Systems (ROS), Matlab, Linux/Bash, Typescript, SQL
Ability to think critically and work independently or collaborate with a team
A wide degree of creativity, openness, and latitude when approaching problems
Enjoy working with new and emerging technology.
