Software Engineer in Test

Our rapidly expanding new Chubb Engineering Center in Greece (CECG) is integrated with the Engineering Centers in India and Mexico to support our global technology needs and digital business transformation, as well as the company's operations in the Europe - Middle East - Africa region operating in 27 countries.

Chubb is looking for Software Engineer in Test to join our team in the EMEA region, working on claims digital projects. You will be responsible for conducting both manual and automation testing on various projects, focused on claims automation and digital innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile execution and distributed team model. The successful candidate will possess strong automation skills, extensive experience in functional testing, and a proven track record of successfully completing end-to-end testing lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Test Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans that cover functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. Translate business requirements into test cases and scenarios.Test Execution: Perform manual testing, executing test cases and scripts to identify defects, bugs, and areas of improvement. Conduct exploratory testing to ensure the overall quality and usability of the digital claims applications.Automation Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit) and frameworks. Continuously improve the automation framework to increase test efficiency and coverage.Test Data and Environment Setup: Prepare and manage test data and test environment setup to ensure accurate and reliable test execution. Collaborate with the development and infrastructure teams to address any environmental issues impacting the testing process.Defect Management: Track and report defects using the designated defect tracking tools. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of defects and validate the bug fixes.Test Reporting: Generate test reports and provide timely and accurate updates on testing progress, defect status, and test coverage. Participate in defect triage meetings and provide inputs on prioritizing and resolving identified issues.Agile Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and scrum masters, to ensure seamless integration of testing activities within the agile development process. Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews) and contribute to project success.Continuous Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in testing processes, tools, and techniques. Propose and implement changes to enhance testing efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA and testing methodologies.

Qualifications

At least 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering with teams in an agile delivery model2 - 4 years of experience in QA automation Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)Proven experience as a QA Engineer, focusing on both manual and automation testing, preferably in the claims domain or related insurance field.Strong experience in automation testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit)Solid understanding of functional testing and end-to-end testing lifecycles, including test planning, test case development, execution, and defect trackingProficiency in using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management toolsProficiency in using Confluence as a document management toolExperience in building out dashboards for sharing QA resultsExperience in risk based testing approachesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issuesFamiliarity with agile methodologies and working in a distributed team modelExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams in a global environmentDetail-oriented, self-driven, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficientlyAutomation certification(s) is a plusExperience in claims automation and digital projects is a plus
