As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Collaborate with Product teams to define and integrate non-functional requirements (NFRs) and availability targets into the software development lifecycle.Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Assist in creating high-quality designs and roadmaps that incorporate SRE principles. Ensure systems adhere to firm-wide resiliency patterns and participate in regular testing for resiliency through exercises and experiments.Provides technical guidance and support to other engineers on SRE and observability practices. Debug and optimize critical components of applications and platforms to enhance performance and reliability.Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceExperience in software development with a strong focus on Python or Java. Knowledge of site reliability engineering principles and practices.Understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservice-based design principles. Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languagesExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
