Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Position Summary

Member of Global Markets DTG Technology team, serve as technical lead over Infrastructure projects for Global Markets applications under FICC, Currencies, Commodities, PBMRT, Equities, and Munis.

Quartz has been the primary platform for pricing trades, managing positions, and computing risk exposure. Majority of the Global Markets applications runs on Quartz platform. Technical lead should be well versed with Quartz architecture, core components as well as legacy infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirementsDesigns, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintainedMentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stackExecutes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecyclePerforms spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideasAutomates manual release activitiesDesigns, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)Conduct comprehensive capacity reviews across all infrastructure components, including servers, applications, databases, grids, and networksIdentify optimization opportunities in power and space constrained datacenters, with a focus on capex and total cost of ownership(TCOA)Maintain a holistic understanding of all infrastructure components with a keen eye for identifying consolidation opportunitiesServe as a subject matter expert for one or more Quartz core components, providing trusted guidance and recommendations to the technology teams

Required Qualifications

Strong interest in or knowledge of infrastructure technology e.g. servers, storage; networks, grid, High Availability.

Strong general consulting/project skills (ability to help clients define requirements, write statement of work, marshal resources, project management, scope control, risk management). Advise the application teams on creating business objectives, and technical requirements.

Experience of working with cross-functional and global teams with dynamic business requirements. Knowledge of Bank of America processes, and procedures. Ability to follow, improve upon and create processes required for effective IT infrastructure Management. Exposure to Market Data, Messaging servers, and Schedulers. 

Desired Qualifications

Exposure to monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Splunk and Kibana. knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies, etc.) Exposure to IAM infrastructure, Active Directory, and SSO solutions. Understanding of applications integrated into DMZ.
