Software Engineer III

Location: Remote Duration: 12 months Overview: The Software Engineer III provides design and development expertise for new or existing applications, solving basic to complex problems and implementing enhancements. As a principal application designer, this individual leads critical component development using deep technical and analytical skills while mentoring less experienced team members. The role supports the bank’s strategic objectives by providing technically sound solutions and fostering innovation. Primary Responsibilities: Lead complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts as both an individual contributor and team leader. Provide analytical consulting and technical leadership to identify new technologies and improve existing systems. Direct and monitor the work of less experienced developers and manage technical aspects of project plans. Collaborate with operations and development teams across all phases of the software development lifecycle. Develop and execute test plans; perform debugging and ensure software quality. Analyze complex interdependencies between programs, applications, and platforms. Create and maintain technical and functional documentation, specifications, and system diagrams. Provide effort estimates and contribute to planning for projects of all sizes. Support and maintain application performance, recommending improvements as needed. Participate in vendor evaluations and advocate for new technologies, tools, or practices. Uphold development standards and procedures while remaining current on technical advancements. Assist in budget preparation and employee performance monitoring. Ensure compliance with risk management and regulatory standards. Contribute to diversity, inclusion, and brand alignment initiatives. Perform other related duties, including due diligence or business analysis efforts as needed. Scope of Responsibilities: The Software Engineer III works under the guidance of Technology management and operates independently across all technical phases of development. The role frequently manages others and leads project tasks, evaluates staff performance, and may represent technical teams in management or committee meetings. Interaction with senior management, internal departments, clients, and vendors is common. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: May supervise less experienced developers on projects. Provides mentoring and guidance to technical staff. May participate in performance appraisals. Skill Details: 10 years of overall software engineering experience (Required) 5 years of Angular development experience (Required) Experience with Angular PrimeNG or KendoUI (Preferred) 5+ years of .NET Core version 6+ and C# (Required) 10 years of .NET Framework 4.8 and C# (Required) 3 years of Web API development (Required) 5 years of ASP.NET Webforms experience (Required) 3 years of experience with ORM tools, especially Entity Framework Core (Required) 3 years of unit testing and mocking tools (Required) 5 years of SQL Server experience (Required) 2 years of GitLab usage (Required) 3 years of experience with dependency injection frameworks (Preferred) Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and clean coding practices (Required) 2 years of hands-on DevOps experience, including CI/CD scripting and support (Required) 3 years of experience with Azure Cloud and cloud-native design, including application refactoring (Required) Experience integrating with DocuSign and FileNet (Desired) Education and Experience Required: Associate’s degree and 6+ years of systems analysis/application development experience; or in lieu of a degree, 8+ years of combined education and relevant work experience. Strong background in software development tools and platforms, particularly in .NET and Angular ecosystems. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects and mentoring junior staff. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Experience working with cloud platforms, especially Azure. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Deep familiarity with enterprise-level application frameworks and integrations. Ability to work independently or within diverse technical teams. Experience in large-scale application modernization efforts, particularly cloud migration. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
