**JOB PURPOSE:**
As a Software Engineer II, you will write, support, debug, and enhance the industry’s best car wash tunnel software solutions. This is a hands-on development role, where you will participate in the design and specification of new features and new products, working closely with the product owner and other stakeholders. You will also work with the operations and support organization to provide client support for DRB Systems’ products.

· Participates in design of new products and features.
· Aids in designing “proofs of concept” exercises.
· Gathers requirements and does analysis to understand software problems and/or specifications.
· Participates in creating work estimates, project schedules, and assessing project risks.
· Writes accurate acceptance criteria for assigned user stories
· May participate in architectural decision making.
· Implements quality code according to our approved development methods
· Submits code for and participates in regular reviews focusing on architecture, styles and standards, and functionality
· Meets stated milestone dates and deadlines
· Reviews product documentation, test plans, etc. for technical accuracy
· Works with other departments such as QA and customer support on escalated technical issues
· Interfaces with various types of third-party software programs
· Troubleshoots various product related issues
· Performs unit-level-test code for quality and functionality, ensuring that all acceptance criteria are met prior to submission for code review
· Review and approve QA test plans.
· Performs other duties as assigned
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
The position works under general direction of the Director of Engineering – Beacon Mobile and Tunnel Systems, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in the department.
**Human relations**
This position interacts with both internal and external customers.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
+ 2-5 years of experience in software development
+ Familiarity with software development lifecycles and agile methodologies
+ Knowledge of software architecture, design, security, and cryptography concepts
+ Proven experience as a full stack web developer with strong back-end development skills using C#/.NET and proficiency in Angular or similar modern front-end JavaScript frameworks.
+ Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
+ Solid understanding of version control using Git
+ Working knowledge of sockets, serial communications, threading, and general networking concepts
+ Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
**PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:**
+ Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps or equivalent (such as Jira)
+ Experience with Object Pascal/Delphi development
+ Knowledge of the MODBUS communication protocol
+ Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation
+ Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
