As a Software Engineer II – Solutions Delivery at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Payment Engineering and Architecture Solutions Delivery team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approachesWrite secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidanceIdentify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsFacilitate evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureFacilitate communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAddress non-functional requirements to ensure stability, security and scalability of the API infrastructure Actively participate in a highly energy global agile teamGather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systemsContribute to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityFamiliarity with container and container orchestration such as Kubernetes, ECS and DockerStrong experience with Terraform and automation tooling and scripting knowledge (Bash/YAML), git-based workflowsProficient in coding in one or more languages i.e. Java, JavaScript, or PythonExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Strong understanding of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful API'sPractical AWS Cloud native experience
