As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate AI/ML Data Platforms team, ou serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceSolid understanding of fundamental data structures including arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, and hash tables.Ability to design, analyze, and implement algorithms, with a focus on sorting and searching techniques.Experience in modern architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, reactive architectures, event-driven architectures)Programming experience in at least 2 modern programming languages/frameworks such as JavaScript, React, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Python, GoExperience working with HTML/ CSS and at least 1 modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue.js, Hapi.js, Ember.js, Angular.jsExperience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, etc.)Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, TDD, CI/CD, building highly scalable applications, application securityExperience with Agile development methodologies and working knowledge of DevOps principlesAbility to interact with people at all levels in an organizationAbility to communicate complex ideas effectivelyPassion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problemsExperience/Knowledge of model governance, data governance is a plusPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with modern full-stack technologiesExperience in writing and utilizing RESTful and GraphQL API services and performance tuning large-scale applicationsExperience with cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
