As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. In your role as an emerging member of the software engineering team, you will be responsible for executing software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary for professional growth.
Job responsibilities
Administer and maintain Linux-based systems and Infrastructure as Code tools across development, testing, and production environments.Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible for system configuration and application deployment.Create and manage batch job workflows using Control-M, ensuring reliability and performance.Write and maintain Python scripts for automation, integration, and monitoring purposes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to support CI/CD processes.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and automation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Hands-on experience with the Linux operating system, including system administration and troubleshooting.Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesStrong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Proven experience in Ansible scripting for infrastructure automation.Hands-on experience in writing and maintaining Control-M job scripts.Proficiency in Python and GO scripting for various automation tasks.
Good understanding of CI/CD practices, version control (e.g., Git), and the software development lifecycle.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
