As a **Software Engineer II** in Substrate Intelligence Platform, your primary responsibility will be working in the core of the service platform. You will deepen your services experience by delivering the most important components of our service. You will work with others to develop the software using Azure services like Azure Kubernetes Service & Storage. This is an action-oriented, hands-on, design and development position. You will act as an expert in areas of large-scale system architecture. You will contribute in debugging/troubleshooting the complete stack of services, drive analysis of issues and outages, write software and automation to resolve production problems with durable system fixes.

**Responsibilities**
+ Maintains and improves a large scale Azure-based ML training infrastructure for Office data scientists.
+ Designs and implements robust, security-oriented, and flexible ML training infrastructure service, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
+ Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
+ Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
+ Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
+ Author and maintain customer and developer documentation for the ML training infrastructure services.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:** ** **
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, among others).
+ 1+ years of experience working with internal and external partners.
**Preferred Qualifications:** ** **
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
+ OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
+ OR equivalent experience.
