Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + Work on the Software-Defined Networking(SDN) platform to deliver rich network features and performance/scale for Azure Dedicated workloads. + Design and develop software features in the control plane and datapath to bring mission-critical workloads. + Innovate on the Software-Defined Networking(SDN) platform to provide consistent connectivity for a heterogeneous mix of workloads. + Proactively identify and resolve production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes to reduce operational toil. + Collaborate with multiple partner teams and gain broad exposure to core networking technologies end-to-end. + Develop, set up, and execute tests before feature releases. + Create monitoring and diagnostic tools to ensure quality of service. **Qualifications** **Required/Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience. + 1+ year(s) experience developing software for Software-Defined Networking (SDN), network switches or related networking technologies + 1+ year(s) experience in Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), data center networking, monitoring/logging platforms and problem solving and software troubleshooting skills. **Other Requirements:** + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Additional or Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science + OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience. + Understanding of system performance and incident response, skilled at identifying, isolating, and fixing critical issues in large-scale production systems + Knowledge of working with databases such as SQL/KQL etc. Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
