As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a developing member of the software engineering team, you will implement software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary to advance in your role.
Job responsibilities
Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationApplies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexityGathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expanding applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesDemonstrable ability to code in one or more languages such as Python, Java/Spring BootExperience across the whole Software Development Life CycleExposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityExperience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or TerraformFamiliarity with container and container orchestration such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.Experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and others
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
