What's the role?

We are looking for a Product-focused Fullstack engineer, to develop features for some of Etsy's biggest bets and contribute directly to the company goals and growth. Mid-level engineers participate in discussions and decisions with other engineers and partners. They lead small projects and implement features alongside other engineers passionate about our technologies and users. Our projects require both frontend and backend work; it's okay to prefer one area over another, but we expect any Seller Programs and Subscriptions (SPAS) engineer to step into a new problem space and determine a path forward.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team. Learn more details about our  work modes and workplace safety policies here.

What's the team like at Etsy?

Seller Programs and Subscriptions (SPAS) is a high-ownership, engaged seller-focused team that collaborates closely with our Product and Design partners. We rely on engineers to surface opportunities for improvement, suggest solutions, help scope, and deliver high quality work. Engineers lead and participate in tirekicks, jam sessions, and backlog grooming. We are currently working on two significant new tools for sellers and as a team collectively are responsible for our subscriptions architecture.

What does the day-to-day look like?

Ensuing guidance from project leads, exploring implementation ideas, and aligning on paths forward for your work.

Engineers have a good mix of focus time and team time, with opportunities to get to know an area well enough that others are coming to you for guidance.

Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
