Role
As a Software Engineer II at Mastercard, you are expected to carry out the following general duties: Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle through Coaching, R&D, Proof of Concepts, Prototyping, Code review etc.
•\tOwn software delivery tasks in full stack languages (code development, test, deployment) at an application/software component level
•\tParticipate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders
•\tAble to troubleshoot and refactor existing code
•\tAdopt new languages and architecture patterns needed for the work
•\tInfluence the decisions made by the team
•\tAssist peers and less experienced members
•\tInfluence the decisions made by the team
•\tDemonstrate active learning and sharing of software practices via Guild/Engineering community initiatives
•\tAssist in technical documentation of APIs and services being delivered

All About You
Key Technology Focus Areas:
•\tStrong knowledge and experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular or React, Typescript, Vue, node.js, Express.js, SQL
•\tFamiliar with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or TestNG.
•\tFamiliar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT)
•\tUnderstands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices
•\tApply tools (e.g., Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx ) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns as part of development activity
•\tUnderstands and builds test code at unit level, service level, and integration level to ensure code and functional coverage
•\tUnderstands the use of basic design patterns (e.g., factory, adaptor, singleton, composite, observer, strategy, inversion of control)
•\tUnderstands requirement analysis being essential part of delivering value to our customers and partners and participate in elaboration, prioritization, and effort estimation
•\tUnderstands different SDLC practices (Waterfall/Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) and the delivery situations they are used for
•\tUnderstands the basic engineering principles used in building and running mission critical software capabilities (security, customer experience, testing, operability, simplification, service-oriented architecture)
•\tFamiliar with different application patterns to implement different types of business processes (e.g., APIs, event-driven-services, batch-services, web-applications, big data)

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Pay Ranges

Atlanta, Georgia: $92,000 - $147,000 USD
