Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer to join an established technology team in Boston, MA or Belllevue, WA. At Chewy, it is our mission to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents (and partners) everywhere. The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of backend and frontend engineers, product managers, and business leaders in an Agile environment, develop impactful software capabilities to enhance or create new functionality needed to grow Chewy. In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development of one of Chewy’s fastest growing areas. What You’ll Do:
Actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using an agile methodologyPartner with stakeholders and technology teams on how best to implement desired features and enhancementActively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high quality codeCollaborate to identify, isolate, and resolve malfunctions related to softwareEstablish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teamsTake responsibility and ownership of project timelines and deliverablesParticipate in on-call rotations, troubleshooting production issues and contribute to operational excellenceWhat You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar; or equivalent work experience1+ years of Software Engineering experience.Experience developing software componets and/or services by use of the following technologies: Java/Kotlin, NextJS, TerraformExperience with building, deploying, testing APIs and micro-servicesKnowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operationsDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate with stakeholdersMust be team oriented and have a customer first mindsetBonus (if applicable):
Experience with agile methodologies a plusExperience with cloud & orchestration technologies (AWS Services, Terraform, Ansible etc)Knowledge/experience of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practicesChewy is an equal opportunity employer.
