As a Software Engineer I focusing on the backend as part of our Pharmacy Organization Team, you will be doing exciting work to deliver an outstanding experience for our Vet Professionals and our Pet Parents. Your work will directly impact millions of customers who care for their furry family members every day.Apply algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to produce efficient and performant codeDevelop, extend, and debug code within the scope of their team’s existing tools and servicesComplete simple design and debug tasksTackle root causes of and solutions for bugs and production issuesWill contribute to team’s standard processes for logging, testing, instrumentation, metrics, monitors, alerts, practices, and processesMake significant contributions to the team's existing service architecture, data architecture, dev-ops, and infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services as part of a software development teamParticipate in on-call rotations and operational excellenceWhat You’ll Need:Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar; or equivalent experience1+ years of Software Engineering experienceHands-on experience in designing, building, and deploying scalable, highly available systemsKnowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development process including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsProficiency in Computer Science fundamentals – object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm - design, problem solving, and complexity analysisKnowledge of cloud technologies, databases and operating systemsAble to conduct root causes of and solutions for bugs and production issues.Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs using Java or an equivalent LanguageBonus:Experience in e-commerce or HealthcareExperience with AWS or similar cloud platformsExperience with Scrum, XP, or other agile methodologiesExperience with configuration and deployment management and be hands on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experienceExperience with Spring
