JOB DESCRIPTION

The Software Engineer I position is responsible for feature development within the Android mobile team. This role covers a variety of responsibilities and skills and is deeply integrated into the structure of the product development team.

Develop and unit test new features of low to medium difficultyDevelop bug fixes of low to medium difficultyWrite clean, maintainable, optimized codeReceive and learn from code reviews authored by more experienced teammatesPerform iterative improvement cycles for optimal code and user experienceParticipate in the generation of product technical specificationsParticipate in product brainstorming sessionsStay current on mobile development best practices and trendsStay current on sports and entertainment products, topics and trendsOther duties and responsibilities, as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or similarSolid understanding of software design patterns and problem solvingPassionate about front-end development and creating consumer-facing productsExperience with network level testing and proxy tools such as CharlesExperience with REST/JSON and API development tools such as PostmanExperience testing and troubleshooting softwareExperience with Git, managed releases and CI/CD pipelinesHunger to learn and master new technologies on a frequent basisInterest in sports, streaming, visualizations and gambling

Experience with Kotlin or JavaExperience with Android Studio for building Android appsBasic understanding of native Android frameworks, API and UI/UX best practicesBasic understanding of Kotlin CoroutinesExperience with tools from Android Jetpack SuiteExperience with XCUITest, Espresso, or similar UI test frameworksKnowledge of cross-platform design principlesKnowledge of caching strategiesAzure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipeline systems

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $74,000.00-101,500.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
