Q2 is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Software Engineer experienced in the ins and outs of development in a team setting. As part of our Engineering Development group based in Austin, TX, you will be working individually and collaboratively to develop, implement, and support solutions through fast-paced, dynamic projects involving components at every level of the Q2 platform to extend its functionality to meet our clients’ unique needs. Our ideal candidate is someone with a self-motivated tinkering spirit and who is comfortable diving into professional development life while rapidly learning to engineer solutions using a mix of open technologies and our own proprietary framework.
A Typical Day:
Design, implement, integrate, and test software solutions of moderate complexity comprised of Windows- and Linux-based front-end and back-end components that interact with end users and integrate with internal and external servicesWork individually and collaboratively to deliver solutions in live production systemsSupport, maintain, and resolve problems for custom features in live production systems, with occasional on-call availabilityBring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree and up to 2+ years of related software engineering experienceProficiency in C#, Golang, or PythonProficiency in SQL preferredPassion for applying good design principals while exercising pragmatism to keep deadlinesExperience in all aspects of the software development life cycleExperience engineering software in a service-oriented architectureStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication skillsExperience contributing in an Agile development environmentGood interpersonal skillsOccasional availability for on-call/emergency supportAbility to work flexible hours when necessary for deadlines and off-hours installationsExperience with JavaScript is a plusExperience with AWS or Azure is a plusExperience with AI tools like GitHub copilot, AWS Bedrock, and Claude is a plusThis position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
