We are currently recruiting for a Software Engineer to join the Cards and Payments team  at FIS.

As a full-time FIS Software Engineer, you will participate in team projects, professional development seminars and work with a team that is invested in your growth, development, and success - including regular connects with your manager and wider support team.

About the team

The Cards platform provides card issuance and authorisation capabilities to financial entities of various sizes. These are a mixture of Credit, Prepaid and Virtual Cards.

The team supports and delivers for Cards and Payment hosted platforms in EMEA. This role will form part of our technical team who are responsible for an in-depth level of technical knowledge on our solutions and clients. You will become an SME on Card processing systems end to end and be responsible for supporting more complex production support issues and driving solutions for the future on our platform to enhance our products and services offered by Cards to its clients.

In addition, the team offers consultative and educational support to internal partners and our clients and supports the delivery teams in the end-to-end delivery of new client onboarding programs.

The team comprises of Business System Specialists, Business Analysts, Project Managers and System administrators who work with various internal partners and our external vendors and clients to shape the future of the products and services offered as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory directives and card network mandates.

What you will be doing

In this role you will be responsible for managing the resolution of client facing and internal enhancement and/or maintenance projects within our B2K-P1C card issuing platform.

Day to day responsibilities in the role:

Analyses, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new developments to our Cards Solutions

Interacts with product managers and/or clients to define system solutions and/or necessary modifications

Works closely with Business Analysts and Project Managers on key client and internal deliverables

Participates in software design meetings and analyses clients needs to determine technical requirements

Supports code development, programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages (COBOL, SQL, JAVA) and technologies

Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance

Trains and communicates with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams on systems application

May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences

Maintain and develop business relationships with assigned clients or internal stakeholders

Who we are looking for

A bachelor’s degree, preferred Computer Science, Maths or Engineering

At least 4 years of relevant experience.

Experience with card schemes, payment processing or a related technical field.

Technical expertise with mainframe technology including COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, TSO/ISPF.

A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills

Highly organised, with good time management skills and an ability to multi-task

Pro-active – willing to ask questions and put forward ideas

Ability to build a network and comfortable interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders

Proven teamwork skills combined with the desire and flexibility to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

An interest in financial technology, including payments technology and products
