Software Engineer- AI/ML Workflows

Job Summary
The Red Hat Ecosystems Engineering group is seeking a Software Engineer in our Boston, MA office.  In this role, you will work with a diverse team of highly motivated engineers on designing, developing, and testing AI/ML software solutions to integrate partner technologies within the Red Hat OpenShift AI ecosystem, ensuring robust and scalable performance. You will also be working closely with product management, other engineering groups within Red Hat, and with Red Hat partners and lighthouse customers.

What you will do

As a software engineer  in this role, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for AI/ML workflows and pipeline lifecycle management, including pre-processing, model training, evaluation, serving, monitoring etc.

Deploy AI/ML pipelines on OpenShift AI (RHOAI), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Work with upstream AI/ML communities to evaluate new AI/ML-related technologies from partners and create proof-of-concept projects bridging their technology and RHOAI

Build multi product demos and AI/ML workflows using Predictive and Generative AI leveraging RH product and AI stack

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including product teams, subject matter experts, AI/ML partners etc. to adjust their AI strategies, address their specific use cases, and drive value through the adoption of the RHOAI 

What you will bring

Experience in development in Python or Go

Proven experience in designing, developing, and debugging complex software systems.

Understanding of fundamental AI/ML concepts, algorithms, techniques, and implementation of workflows

Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to learn and adopt new technologies, accelerate development, and ensure code quality.

Familiarity with DevOps/MLOps practices and tools for managing the AI/ML lifecycle in production environments.

Open to challenges, a growth mindset, and problem-solving skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills

The following are considered a plus

Knowledge of containers/virtualization (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) 

Contributions to open source projects, public projects on GitHub. 

Innovative application or publications of novel AI/ML concepts, algorithms, or techniques.

Basic knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation frameworks and libraries

Professional software development experience; startup experience.

The salary range for this position is $104,080.00 - $166,320.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
