Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support the installation, configuration, and validation of TFDM software components on operational hardware at field sites and in lab environments. This role plays a critical part in modernizing air traffic control tower equipment and optimizing airport surface management.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and validate TFDM software components on operational hardware.Collaborate with team members to ensure successful software deployment at field sites and lab environments.Assist in the modernization of air traffic control tower equipment through improved electronic flight data exchange and implementation of electronic flight strips.Streamline departures on the airport surface to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.Enhance collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower to optimize the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and the airline industry.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field.Experience with software installation and validation.Previous experience with FAA systems and air traffic control.Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages.Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 6 years of relevant engineering/aviation experience.Familiarity with aviation and air traffic control processes.Strong understanding of engineering principles and software validation techniques.Work Environment
The position is based at the FAA Technical Center located at the Atlantic City International Airport, NJ. Travel to various Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs) may be required to complete technical work. The work environment involves collaboration with experts in the field and an opportunity to contribute to the FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) through the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) project.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $84.00/hr.
