This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Family Definition:

Software engineer responsible for building critical infrastructure/operating-system software providing scalability, agility and programmability for current and future generations of routing/switching products.

With the move towards cloud computing and hyperscaled data centers there has been a shift in the way networking gear is deployed and managed. This places some interesting demands on networking software requiring a rethinking of the problem. Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.

What you’ll do:

Design and develop high performance core infrastructure software for routing/switching platformsWork on low level performance analysis and optimization of the software stackSupport QA and release organizations with timely analysis and code fixer

What you need to bring:

Qualification

5-7+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Linux based embedded systemsBTech/MTech in computer science

Requirements

Familiarity with common networking protocolsStrong programming skills in C & C++ is a MUST, python is desirableGood background in Linux programming and an understanding of OS internals, multi-threading and memory management subsystemsGood understanding    of Linux container technology like Docker,KubernetesGood understanding of design patternsGood understanding of Data Structures an algorithmsExcellent debugging skillsExperience with the Linux network stack is a plus
