Job Description
We are seeking junior or mid-level software engineers to support our rapidly growing Department of the Navy development and modernization programs. This role involves maintaining and updating the existing source code and functionality of a Naval Weapons System. Responsibilities include verifying issues reported as Problem Reports, investigating software fixes, implementing and testing those fixes, and integrating them back into the system. We seek self-starters capable of independent effort as well as participation on a small team. This is a permanent, full-time position located on-site in our Research and Development Lab in Columbia, Maryland.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update existing source code and functionality of the Naval Weapons System.Verify issues reported as Problem Reports against the Weapons System.Investigate, implement, and test software fixes.Integrate software fixes back into the system.Work independently and as part of a small team to achieve project goals.Essential Skills2+ years of experience with C++ in a professional setting.Experience in software development, debugging, fixing, and testing legacy code.Must possess a DoD Secret clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.Experience with Java.Experience with Linux.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Work Environment
This full-time position is based in an office setting in Columbia, Maryland. The work will be performed on-site in our Research and Development Lab, providing a collaborative environment where team members can share insights and solve complex problems together.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $57.70/hr.
