DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Working in an Agile software development environment; Distributing application architecture, including microservices and asynchronous messaging; Developing distributed applications using Spring Framework 5.x and Spring Boot; Building server- side applications using Java 8+ and Maven as a build platform; Building and deploying software on AWS; Provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform; Building web applications and single-page applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within React framework; Working with relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres; Querying using SQL Data Query Language; Managing data using SQL Data Manipulation Language; Creating and modifying database structures using SQL Data Definition Language; Integrating with databases using Hibernate version 5.x, 6.x, and Java Persistence API; Building RESTful web services using GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE; Documenting REST APIs for consumption by other development teams using Swagger or OpenAPI; JSON, including validation, serialization, and deserialization; Automated testing using JUnit versions 4.x or 5.x frameworks and Mockito for mocking dependencies; Version control using GIT.
