DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, Quantitative/Business Analytics, or in a related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, Quantitative/Business Analytics, or in a related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Following Agile SDLC methodology and using the JIRA tool to track tasks and project progress; Developing Windows PowerShell and Python scripts to automate tasks such as moving and transforming data files on Windows servers; Implementing changes to database tables according to relational database design principles for partitioning and query performance; Performing Root cause Analysis to identify bugs in code, explain issue to business users and implement a fix; Committing and merging code using GIT repositories; Performing System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing before releasing changes to production; Designing, developing and modifying interactive Excel reports with advanced functionalities including vlookup, data analysis add-ons, pivots, excel macros and VBA; Performing data retrieval, data manipulation, data transformation and query optimization using SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL and Dynamic SQL; Creating ETL pipelines using Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SSIS, C#.NET and VB.NET; Deploying Microsoft SSIS packages in production using SSIS Deployment Models; Exporting and publishing data to Microsoft SharePoint Sites using Microsoft SSIS.
